Onward Travel in Belgium No Longer Free with Eurostar

Unfortunately, from 12th October 2010, Eurostar will no longer be allowing its passengers free onward travel to stations in Belgium after arrival in Brussels. Previously, passengers could use their Eurostar ticket to travel to/from other Belgian stations.

So if you are planning on travelling to/from other stations in Belgium, and were hoping to use your Eurostar ticket for onward travel, check with Eurostar first.

Of course, you can still purchase tickets for rail travel in Belgium in advance through companies like Rail Europe. Onward travel can be purchased as an additional fare called 'Any Belgian Station', and only costs an extra £5.50 (Standard Class) or £7.50 (Standard Premier).

Full details are now on the Eurostar website.
