Tallink Silja Line

Silja Line ferries are operated by Tallink, and offer services between Finland and Sweden. Tallink are a leading ferry operator in the Baltic Sea, with a fleet of 19 vessels in total. The Silja Line routes are operated by four of those ships (MS Silja Serenade, MS Silja Symphony, MS Silja Europa and MS Galaxy), covering the following routes:

• Helsinki - Mariehamn - Stockholm; and
• Turku - Mariehamn/Langnas - Stockholm.

The exact choice of accommodation types varies depends on the ferry operating the route you are taking. 

Executive Suite

MS Galaxy, Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony, Silja Europa

Executive Suites are spacious cabins, designed for two passengers, that may also have access to a private balcony. The cabins are located at the rear of the ships, and have a double bed, sofa and armchairs. The en-suite bathroom includes a toilet, shower and hairdryer. The cabin also features a television, telephone and fridge. Executive Suite customers receive a special breakfast (for evening departures), and complimentary refreshments (soft drinks and fruit) can be found in the fridge.

Suite

MS Galaxy

Suites are spacious cabins, designed for two passengers, situated at the front of teh ship. The cabins have a double bed, sofa and armchairs. The en-suite bathroom includes a toilet, shower and hair dryer. The cabin also features a television, telephone, minibar, writing table and fridge. Suite customers receive a special breakfast (for evening departures), and complimentary refreshments (soft drinks and fruit).

Commodore Cabin

Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony

Commodore Cabins are spacious, designed for up to two passengers. The cabins have balconies as well as bathrooms with baths instead of showers. The double bed can be converted to twin beds, and a sofa bed in the room can be used for 1 or 2 children. Cabins include a television and trouser press. Commodore customers receive a special breakfast (for evening departures), and complimentary refreshments (soft drinks and fruit).

De Luxe Cabin

De Luxe cabins are spacious, designed for two passengers. All cabins have a double bed, with television, telephone and fridge. The en-suite bathroom includes a toilet, shower and hair dryer. Passengers also receive a special breakfast (for evening departures), and complimentary refreshments (soft drinks and fruit).

Premium Cabin

MS Galaxy

Premium Cabns are outside (with windows), designed for two passengers. All cabins have a double bed, and television. En-suite bathrooms have a toilet and shower.

A-Class Cabin

A-Class Cabins are outside (with windows), designed for either two or four passengers. All cabins have an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. Televisions are available in each cabin. 

Family Cabin

Family Cabins are outside facing (with windows), designed for four or eight passengers. All cabins have an en-suite bathroom, with toilet and shower. Televisions are available in each cabin.

Promenade Cabin

Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony

Promenade Cabins are high quality cabins that overlook the promenade area. The cabins are designed for two or four passengers, and are arranged as bunk-beds. The lower beds can be converted to a double bed.

B-Class Cabin

MS Galaxy, Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony, Silja Europa

B-Class Cabins are inside facing (no windows), designed for either two or four passengers. All cabins have an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. Televisions are available in each cabin.

C-Class Cabin

Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony, Silja Europa

C-Class Cabins are inside facing (no windows), designed for either two or four passengers. Some cabins are arranged in bunk-bed style, and the lower berths can be converted to a double bed.

E-Class Cabin

MS Galaxy

E-Class Cabins are inside facing (no windows), designed for either two or four passengers. All cabins have an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. Televisions are available in each cabin. As the cabins are located above the on-board nightclub, they can be quite noisy.

Luggage must be stored in cabins or in your vehicle (if you are travelling with one).

Food & Drink

Executive Suite, Suite and De Luxe cabin passengers receive a complimentary breakfast on evening departures, as well as free soft drinks and fruit in their cabins.

Each ship has an on-board restaurant, as well as bars and in some cases a nightclub. The restaurants vary in price and style, from the finest cuisine to self-service buffets.

Disabled Passengers

Accessible cabins are available on all ships (varying cabin classes. Accessible cabins have special bathroom facilities, as well as widened entry doors to get to the cabin and bathroom.

Travelling with Children

Certain ships (MS Galaxy) have an on-board playroom for small children. There are a set of regulations that govern the age limits for passengers on-board. 

Entertainment

Some ships have on-board spas to help passengers unwind. These include a swimming pool and saunas. On-board shops offer a range of goods and gifts, as well as tax-free shopping opportunities. On some ships, Executive Suite and Commodore Cabin passengers have access to the Commodore Lounge, which is a separate area with seating, a bar and sauna.

WiFi / Internet

All Silja Line ships offer access to the internet in particular areas of the ship. While access is free, the connection tends to be very slow as it is made via satellite connection.

Travelling with Pets

Passengers who wish to travel with pets must ensure that they comply with all regulations for the countries they are travelling to and from. There are a limited number of pet-friendly cabins available on all ships. Pets are not permitted in bars, restaurants or indoor public areas. There is a set fare of €16/€13 per animal, per journey. Passengers must book the whole of their cabin to travel with their pet, and there is a maximum of two pets per cabin.
