The journey between Fishguard and Rosslare opens up much of southern Ireland to overland travel routes. Rosslare is a picturesque destination in itself, and its passenger port is Ireland's second largest. This route is ideal for those travelling on day trips to/from Ireland, as well as those wishing to take a longer break.
Stena Line Ferries
Stena Line is one of the world's leading ferry operators. The company operates in Scandanavia, the North Sea and the Irish Sea, with 18 routes in total, served by 35 ships. Depending on your route, you may be onboard a Stena HSS (fast ferry), a traditional car and passenger ferry, or a combined freight and passenger ferry.
For much of the year, the route between Fishguard and Rosslare is served by the newly refurbished Stena Europe Superferry. The ship offers shopping and eating facilities, free movies, as well as free WiFi for passengers. Between July and September, the route is also served by the recently renewed high-speed Stena Express. The Superferry journey takes three and a half hours, with a final check-in time of 45 minutes before scheduled departure, whilst the Stena Express takes just 2 hours, with check-in closing an hour before departure.
