Vienna - Zagreb (InterCity Scenic Train)

Introduction

One of the most spectacular rail journeys in Europe is between Zagreb and Vienna (Wien). The route passes through the Austrian Alps, with passengers treated to spectacular mountain views. Besides the scenery, it is also one of the quickest and cheapest routes between Austria and Croatia.

A bar service is available on the route, in both directions. Both first and second class tickets are available.

Timetable

There is only one direct train in each direction per day. If these timings don't suit you however, you could travel via Maribor and Zidani Most. There is also an alternative srevice between Vienna and Zagreb that travels via Maribor and Zidani Most. From Vienna, the service departs Wien Meidling at 16.02, and arriving at Zagreb at 22.37. From Zagreb the service departs at 07.25, arriving at Wien Meidling  at 13.59.
