Finland

This is a modern country with well planned settlements. It is also famed for its natural beauty with lakes covering 10% of the surface. Swimming and fishing are popular summer activities and the Northern Lights can be seen in the winter. Almost everybody in Finland speaks Finnish. Travelling overland to Finland is no short journey, but the route goes through some of Europe’s most interesting cities and incorporates two ferry crossings on comfortable ships.
