Sarande is a popular tourist town on the Albanian Riviera. Close by are the ruins of the ancient city of Butrint.
The route takes you via Corfu which is well worth a visit. There are several different ferry companies from Corfu to Sarande and tend to run from about 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon. Tickets from the ferry from Bari to Corfu can be booked through Direct Ferries.co.uk, though tickets cannot usually be bought online for the Corfu to Sarande ferries. There is also no official online timetable for this route. The Palatino train from Paris to Bologna is seen by many as a pleasant and efficient service. Bologna is an important rail interchange town and there are plans for large expansion of the station which would in some cases halve train times. You should leave lots of time to walk from the train station in Bari to the ferry port. It may be worth treating the walk as a sightseeing tour through the interesting old town. However, if you are in a hurry it is highly recommended that you take a taxi.
