Ferry

Travelling by ferry often tends to be a short, island hopping exercise. There are some occasions however, when travelling by ferry is either a necessity or in fact the most convenient way of getting from one place to another.

Booking ferries can be very difficult, as online booking is fairly primitive when compared to rail or air booking facilities. At Grounded Travel, our online bookings are provided by aferry.to which books tickets for most of the ferry trips we mention. If however, your route isn't one of the options, we suggest you visit the website (if there is one) of the ferry operator in question. It might well be the case that you will need to buy a ticket on the day, rather than in advance.

From here, you can view itineraries that feature travel by ferry, or book tickets online.
