During the summer months, Eurostar operates a direct service between London and Avignon. For the rest of the year however, the indirect service is almost as simple, with a single change at Lille, avoiding a cross-Paris metro change between TGV and Eurostar.
If you are coming from Brussels instead of London, it is possible to catch a direct service to/from Avignon, on the line to Marseille and Nice.
The quickest out of summer route between London and Avignon is to travel via Lille, which is on both the Eurostar and TGV networks.

If you don't like the look of this, an alternative journey would be London to Paris on the Eurostar, followed by Paris to Avignon on the TGV.
