Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City (often referred to as Salt Lake or SLC) is the capital city of the US state of Utah, originally founded in 1847. The city has a strong draw for fans of the outdoors, offering good skiiing opportunities as well as hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The Utah Transport Authority (UTA) manages the city's public transport network, which includes buses, light rail and commuter rail lines. Amtrak and Greyhound Lines services also serve the city.

Route 1:

The California Zephyr is an Amtrak service running between Chicago and San Francisco. The route covers a total distance of 3,924km, and passes through seven states on its journey. It is well known for being one of the most scenic long distance routes operated by Amtrak. The two day journey is best enjoyed in a roomette or bedroom, but for budget-conscious travellers, a reclining seat can be just as comfortable.
