Reno is a small city, famous for its casinos. The city is home to the University of Nevada, Reno - the oldest in the state. Until the late 50s, Reno was the gambling capital of the country, although it has since been replaced by Las Vegas. 

Amtrak's California Zephyr service calls at the city once a day in either direction, and at other times, Amtrak Thruway services link the city with other routes to/from Sacramento.
