Figueres

Figueres is close to the French/Spanish border, and is home to around 40,000. The city is home to the second most visited museum in Spain, the Salvador Dali museum. The city is a great base to explore the rest of the region's offerings, and is only a short train journey from the beaches of the Costa Brava.

The city can be reached by train from Barcelona, with the city's station located only ten minutes from the Salvador Dali museum. Train services from Barcelona can be either 1hr 40 or 2hrs in length depending on whether you take the intercity or regional service. In the near future, a high-speed rail link between Spain and France is due to be completed which will allow high-speed services between Paris and Barcelona. A high-speed station for Figueres is planned for the future.
