Niort is situated in western France, and the urban area is home to around 125,000. The city is one of the country's main financial centres, and is a major administrative and commercial centre.

Niort is home to a TGV railway station, on the route between Paris and La Rochelle. The journey to/from Paris takes just over two hours.

How to get to Niort from
Route 1:

The service between Paris and La Rochelle is most easily made by TGV Atlantique, in just under three hours. On-board you can expect the standard high quality TGV service as you travel through France at high-speed. The service is fairly frequent, with trains departing every hour and a half throughout the day.
