Durrës

Durres is Albania's second largest city, situated on the Mediterranean coast. The city is one of the country's most important in terms of history and economy, and is home to Albania's principal port, the Port of Durres.

Daily ferry services link Durres with Italian ports such as Bari.

How to get to Durrës from
Route 1:

The service between Vlore, Durres and Tirane is ideal for travelling between western Europe and Albania. The Albanian Railways (HSH) service is basic, but perfectly comfortable. Only one class is offered, and this may involve open carriages or shared compartments. The service is generally safe, although as with any other journey, be aware of your valuables at all times.

One of the six services (in either direction) a day, continues to Vlore, and a connecting service is available to/from Shkodra.

Route 2:

Services between Bari and Durres are operated by a number of different operators, including Ilion Lines (10 sailings / week), Adria Ferries (7 sailings / week), European Seaways (9 sailings / week), Venezia Lines (11 sailings / week) and Ventouris Ferries (13 sailings / week).

The speed of the journey depends on the operator, with the fastest service operated by Venezia Lines (4hrs).
