Guidelines

In order to ensure that Grounded Travel remains a good source of high-quality information, accessible and relevant to all, we think it's important to establish a few guidelines to being part of the Grounded Travel community.

We will be adding to this page as and when we become aware of any issues that need to be resolved through the guidelines. If you think of anything that we have missed, contact us.

General Guidelines:

• DO NOT copy information from another website/guide without the original author's permission;
• All written and image content on Grounded Travel is licensed under a Creative Commons license. Don't add content if you don't want it to be reused (albeit referenced) elsewhere; and
• Follow the formatting guidelines;

Adding Content:

• Check that you are not duplicating content that is already there;
• Routes and journeys must be overland as far as possible;
• Try to be descriptive and detailed; filling out as many data fields as possible;
• If a destination country or city does not appear in a reference field, a new page will be created for that country or route. After you have finished adding/editing the page you are on, please try to edit any new pages that have been added automatically; and
• Do not add links to promote your own product or service unless it adds to the quality of the information available.

Editing Content:

• If you spot any erroneous or missing information, please edit the page to the best of your knowledge, or flag it as requiring work;
• Page revisions can be used to see previous versions of a page, and revert back to older versions;
• Please do check the list of incomplete pages so that we can make sure that all our pages are fully detailed; and
• If you think a user is purposefully damaging content on Grounded Travel, please contact us.
